GOsC-Registered Osteopath · Redditch, Worcestershire
Every patient is different. Age, lifestyle, how you train, how long you have had the problem, what you have tried before. All of it shapes the way Reece approaches your treatment. There is no standard protocol here.
What is osteopathy
Osteopathy is a regulated form of manual therapy that looks at the whole body, not just the site of pain. It is based on the principle that structure and function are connected, and that when one is affected, the other follows.
Reece does not simply treat where it hurts. He assesses why it hurts. When you come in with back pain, he examines how your whole body is functioning — how you load, how you move, where restrictions have developed, and what is actually driving the problem. The site of pain and the source of the problem are frequently not the same thing.
There is no standard treatment applied to every patient with the same presenting complaint. A 25-year-old powerlifter with lower back pain and a 52-year-old office worker with lower back pain will receive entirely different assessments and entirely different treatment plans, because the drivers are different. That is what patient-led osteopathic care actually means in practice.
Treatment may include soft tissue work, joint mobilisation and articulation, manipulation where appropriate, dry needling, or a combination — chosen based on what your body needs, not a fixed formula. It will always include a clear explanation of what has been found and why, and specific exercises to support your recovery between sessions.
Osteopathy is a regulated, protected profession in the UK. Every osteopath must hold a recognised degree and be registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) to practise legally. Reece holds a BOst (Hons) and is GOsC registered. It is a primary contact healthcare profession — you do not need a GP referral to book.
How Reece works
Before any treatment happens, Reece takes a thorough history and carries out a full physical examination. You leave knowing exactly what is going on and why, not just what hurts.
Your age, activity level, goals, and history all influence how Reece treats you. A 22-year-old powerlifter and a 55-year-old office worker with the same presenting complaint will receive very different care.
Reece is not satisfied with getting you out of pain. The goal is to restore full function, address what caused the problem in the first place, and ensure you are in a better position than before you walked through the door.
What we treat
High demand
Acute injuries, overuse conditions, and training-related pain from gym work, martial arts, racket sports, running, and field sports. Assessment and treatment built around getting you back to your sport, not just resting from it.
Learn more →Most common
Whether it came on suddenly or has been building for years, back pain is one of the most treatable conditions osteopathy addresses. Reece identifies the driver, not just the symptom, and builds a plan around your lifestyle and goals.
Learn more →Nerve pain
That sharp, shooting pain down the leg. The numbness. The feeling that sitting or standing for any length of time makes it worse. Sciatica responds well to osteopathic treatment when the cause is properly identified.
Learn more →Very common
Neck pain that limits your range of movement, tension headaches that build through the day, or the kind of stiffness that sets in after hours at a screen. Often more treatable than patients expect.
Learn more →Joint pain
From rotator cuff problems and frozen shoulder to the shoulder pain that develops from bench pressing or overhead work. Reece has a particular interest in shoulder presentations in strength athletes and martial artists.
Learn more →Often overlooked
Temporomandibular joint pain is more common than most people realise, and it often connects to neck and upper back tension. If you are grinding your teeth, struggling to open your mouth fully, or getting jaw pain that radiates into the head, osteopathy can help.
Learn more →Tendon pain
Lateral and medial epicondylitis affect far more than just tennis and golf players. If you are gripping, lifting, or using your hands intensively and the elbow is suffering for it, there is a plan for that.
Learn more →And more
Hip impingement, knee pain from squatting or running, tendinopathy, postural pain, arthritis, generalised aches, and muscle strains. If it is musculoskeletal, it is worth a conversation.
Learn more →Who comes to see us
Powerlifters, bodybuilders, strength athletes, and everyday gym users whose pain is getting in the way of training.
Thai boxing, BJJ, MMA, boxing. Reece has a background in striking sports and understands what the body takes.
Padel, tennis, golf, football, rugby. Sport-specific injuries assessed and treated with a return-to-play focus.
You do not need to be an athlete to benefit from osteopathy. If pain is affecting your life, that is reason enough.
