Headaches that keep
coming back.

If you are reaching for painkillers regularly or planning your day around the possibility of a headache, that is not something to just manage. Many chronic headaches have a musculoskeletal component that responds well to osteopathic treatment.

Types of headache we treat

Not all headaches are the same

Headaches have many causes, and identifying the type is the first step to treating them effectively. Reece focuses on musculoskeletal headaches where the neck, upper back, and surrounding structures are a contributing factor.

Cervicogenic headaches originate in the cervical spine and are often felt at the base of the skull, across the forehead, or behind the eye. They are frequently triggered by sustained posture, screen time, or physical activity. Tension-type headaches involve muscle tightness in the head, neck, and shoulders and are among the most common headache presentations treated with osteopathy.

If Reece identifies that your headaches may have a different underlying cause, he will refer you appropriately. Osteopathy is not appropriate for all headache types, and a thorough assessment ensures you are not treated for something that needs a different approach.

Reece takes a detailed history of your headache pattern, triggers, and associated symptoms to determine whether osteopathy is appropriate and what is driving the problem.

Cervical spine and upper back treatment

Manual therapy to the neck, upper thoracic spine, and associated soft tissue structures to reduce the mechanical contribution to headache.

Lifestyle and postural advice
